it was pommelled by hurricane sandy. so much rain in the streets and inside the subways and parking garages, on the tarmac. a lot of flooding this evening. >> let's bring in our meteorologist. seven subway tunnels being flooded by the east river. >> that's the other component of the infrastructure. they look at the flooded tunnels below ground and the run way covered by water. they will have to inspect those. long term impacts not just the storm surge related impacts. now you will see two day rain totals close to a foot of rain as this tropical air spins across the northeast and now cold air dropping in out of the north. a very unique pattern set up across the northeast. that is what we are seeing this continental polar air out of the west and mixes into the storm even though it is not a hurricane we are seeing sustained winds in pennsylvania of about 65 miles per hour. the wind speeds will back off during the day tomorrow. all of the heavy rain will continue to add and stress the rivers and streams where runoff flooding
